Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public.
Media
If you upload images, avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Cookies
- If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.
- A temporary cookie is set when you visit the login page to check if your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- When you log in, cookies save your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen preferences last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login persistence to two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
- If you edit or publish an article, a cookie indicating the post ID is saved and expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Articles may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other websites, which function as if you visited those sites directly. These sites may collect data, use cookies, track interactions, and monitor engagement if you have an account with them.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Data Retention
- Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely to facilitate automatic approval of follow-ups.
- Registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information anytime (except for usernames). Administrators can also access and modify this information.

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an export of your personal data or request its deletion. This excludes data required for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
